Swiss drugmaker Roche said on Wednesday it will invest 450 million Swiss francs ($470 million) over the next three years to build new diagnostic equipment manufacturing plant in China to meet the growing demand for clinical trials in Asia.
Roche said in a statement that the new plant in Suzhou will employ more than 600 people to produce immunochemical and clinical chemistry test products.
“The new facility will enable us to meet the increasing market demand for our diagnostic products, ensuring that we continue to contribute to the health of people in China and the Asia-Pacific region,” said Roland Diggelmann, Head of Roche Diagnostics.
